Jobs for Gamers Part 1: Unpaid Testing Jobs
If you’ve been a gamer for quite some time, you might have heard about other people like you pursuing an unpaid testing job in the video gaming industry.
If your interest is piqued by this position, there are things you need to learn about.
The first thing you may probably dwell upon is the reason why some gamers like you would even want to join the members of the unpaid workers for video games.
While it isn’t necessarily all glorious to ponder upon at first, there are also benefits in store for the would-be aspirant for the unpaid jobs in video gaming industry.
One of its advantages is the step in the right direction for gamers who are wary of entering the video gaming domain because of lack of technical experience and knowledge. This provides you with an open-door accommodation whether or not you are keen in pursuing the technical side of things.
While this is merely a first step in getting in, you also open yourself up to the experience of learning more if you would take advantage of this type of work.
Nevertheless, don’t think that it’s so simple to be a tester of the video gaming firms. Don’t get disillusioned about this because it’s not. As mentioned, although those people who are tech-savvy and truly understand their way in and out of the video gaming intricacies have more obligations to fulfill, it doesn’t mean that being an unpaid tester wouldn’t require some technical abilities and a background on video gaming on your part.

In fact, it is a must that you know even a tad about the video gaming industry. Why? Because there are responsibilities to do such as figuring out the required debugging process of the system, and being adept at giving relevant information or comments regarding the games and glitches that you may have noticed while playing the games.
It is not just a play-all-you-can thing.
That is why it’s really a must that you know what you are to deal with if you wish to do this on a part-time or full-time basis – even though you are willing not to get any payment out of this testing gig.
Yes, there are some clients or firms that are ready to welcome you into their wings and teach you the basics. Some may even be willing to walk you through the process until you understand your responsibilities expected of you. But, not everyone is willing to take you as an apprentice even if you are doing this for free.
It’s still best to learn what you can before you pursue this so you wouldn’t take so much time in figuring out what you need to take into consideration if ever someone would avail of your services.
Jobs in video gaming industry for the unpaid tester position may not be that appealing. But it can help you understand a lot of things. You can use this unpaid gig as your learning experience until you decide to get the paying tester position in this type of industry

Well you have to have technical experience usually. Gaming skill is not enough, as you need to evaluate the games that would be given to you for testing.
