In your hands are the basic concepts to be tackled for the further development of the video project.
In order to get accepted for this type of post, you need to be a creative writer of ideas. It will also help you if you learn the programming and design stuff of the gaming department so you can better handle the duties of a game designer.
* A Programmer:
Bits, bytes, codes, programs, software, bugs, and glitches – these things are actually simple to understand for a programmer. If you don’t mind being mentally focused on the task of developing a particular video game, this is the best job for you.
A computer background and knowledge in different programs is a must if you wish to land this type of job.
* A Game Artist:
It is time to doodle, to create designs that follow the dictates of the projects specifications. Color, character, and level by level features are checked as to what the game designer had initially implemented.
To be a game artist, knowledge in various aspects of art is required such as creating models and 2D or 3D sketches using the appropriate software.
* A Game Tester:
There are actually paid and unpaid positions for a game tester. If you’re just starting out, and would like to learn the work, you may start with an unpaid position. But, if you want to earn from your services, it still is best to go for paid positions.
Game testers test-play the games from the beginning to the end. Every level of the game is observed for inconsistencies such as system bugs or glitches. A report is made, and the game tester also collaborates with others in the company to give the appropriate feedback.
You’ve got to understand the technical side of things if you want to be a game tester.
These four best jobs in video gaming industry can be what you’ve always wanted to pursue. But, you need to be sure which work responsibility will be preferable to you.

Here is the real schtick… people in the industry have a shirt which reads ” … And I thought this would be my dream job.” The industry had moved such that it is almost all in CA. Electronic Arts holds the lion’s share. You don;t create the game you want, you produce the game you are hired for, that the marketing people say is most saleable. You work basically project by project. The hours are very long and the pay is not commiserate. Designing a game for 60 hours a week for a year and a half of your life is not very satisfying.
The people more miserable than the game designers were the game testers - imagine playing a BROKEN game over and over and over for MONTHS ! You have to find all the ways the game is broken. Think about it, if it was fun they would get volunteers, not pay you for it.
My husband was in the industry for years he had never played a game he worked on cause he was so sick of them by the time they came out.
