Over the years, games developed from black and white to colored, 2D to 3D, from the Television Screens to small, portable little screens. This is because of the never-ending demands of children who get hooked up to mind-challenging and adventurous games.

Even with today’s highly developed games and consoles, it continues to develop as more and more companies invest their money on the gaming industry. One of them is Paramount, who is soon to start publishing and developing games. The company has stated that they are planning to get into real games from their film production and distribution.

Almost everyone is feasting on the news that Paramount will furthermore expand their specialty to the gaming industry because more and more people are getting hooked into gaming.

Particularly, the company is to focus on compact, handheld games like mobile games. All over the world, it has been estimated that the some Mobile Gaming Industry has earned up to more than $2.6 Billion US Dollars. On the other hand, top gaming companies such as Gameloft have reported on their official website that their total revenue for last year, 2007 is €2.9 Billion. From 2006, they have gained up to 40% revenue growth, which just proves how much developing games such as the handheld mobile games will increase Paramount’s income more than it used to be.

Just about everyone in the company is more excited than the mass. The new project is a real challenge to the company as they want to develop the quality of their games as much as they can. Executives believe that in being involved in the actual process, they will be able to be aware of the needs and develop games to higher levels. Hands-on involvement will be done in the company. Paramount Interactive Vice President Sandi Isaacs said “This gives us a great advantage in the timely evaluation of what’s in development and could become good games, as well as working with our talent from the early stages,” he even said that with being hands on with the actual project, it will give them a great advantage because they will be able to enhance what is needed to be enhanced.

The company is pretty much planning on exploring all types of gaming, such as video games. But they have said that their focus will be more on handheld and mobile games for now. They believe that this kind of gaming industry is easier to handle than the big budget gaming consoles such as Play Stations and Xbox.

Even with the spread word that they are to enter this big step of the company, Paramount has assured that they will still license their properties to other publishers of videogames that they have done before.

As of today, Paramount is working with some publishers in creating videogame adaptations of a few of their movies such as Spiderwick Chronicles.
