Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is a role playing game for the NDS. It was developed and published by Square Enix. Final Fantasy crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is a prequel to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles that was created for the Nintendo GameCube. The game offers the player playtime on the local wireless and Wi-Fi capabilities, additionally the game offers voice acting.
Final Fantasy crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates allows for the controls to be similar to that of the Nintendo GameCube. A is used to pick up treasures, B is used to jump, Y is used for holding items and enemies. B is used for Selkies to double jump.
The dual screens come in handy in this game because the gameplay takes place on the top screen and the screen on the bottom is used to show the items that are in the inventory, as well as status, and the weapon attacks that can be utilized with the stylus. There are special attacks that can be performed by pressing the trigger button on the right, this will make the screens exchange places and the player will be able to touch different races and force them to attack the enemy.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates has four races incorporated into the game. The races are the same as they were in the original Crystal chronicles, however what they are capable of has changed to a small degree.
• Selkies- a class of archers who use bows as weapons. They have the ability to double jump. They have high attack abilities, average magic and low defense.
• Clavats- a class of warriors. They have high defense but low magic. They use swords and hatchets for weapons.
• Yukes- a mage class. They have high magic, but low defense. Yukes attack by dismissing orbs from their staves. They require a medium range to attack.
• Lilities- an alchemist class. They are able to create magicite and use their pots for special attacks. Their weapons are hammers and maces.
Magicite is necessary to complete a spell. There are different kinds of spells. They are: Cure, Raise, Blizzard, Thunder, Fire, and Clear. Magicite is used in the creation of the spells and shows up in the inventory of the players. Magicite, potions and esters are shared among the characters in the game. These items can be used by selecting them from the touch screen. The player can create a magic ring and release it upon the target. The L button can be used to lock the magic ring into position. This will allow for the player to cast many spells at the same time. Multiple Magic rings can be used together to create more powerful spells.
Killing monsters will earn the player experience points and a large amount of experience points can raise a player’s stats. The stats consist of hit points, special points, power, defense, and magic. Each race will develop new skills after they have earned a sufficient amount of experience.
There are four stores in the game where the player can purchase rings of equipment. Materials and scrolls are in different dungeons for the player to find. When a player brings materials to the store with him, he will be able to create more than 300 weapons. The appearance of the character will change when the armor is changed.
SINGLE PLAYER MODE
Single player mode allows for the control of up to four characters. The characters are already created, personality and all. As the player progresses through the game, he is introduced to four different characters, one from each race. The characters in the game can be swapped by touching their icon on the touch screen. When the player is not controlling a character it is controlled by the computer. When the player wants to find a character, pressing the L button will summon them.
MULTIPLAYER MODE
When a player is in multiplayer mode, he can create his own character. This created character will continually be separate from the single player characters. Each player will create their own character. A single player can play multiplayer mode.
