RAM and vista…

vista is most likely the largest ram hog to date
the deal is, to actually do any thing performance-wise you would need more than 3 gigs of 800+ MHz RAM, completely diminishing the use of 32 bit vista

Vista x64. or if you are torrent savvy, Windows Server 2008 x64. Both of these have tested to preform faster than XP. Server is 10-15% faster than Vista.

best gaming os is xp x64 lil bit unstable compaired to xp 32 bit but for gaming great compaired to all others such as vista very lght os and driver, software comatability is sometimes a prob but for gaming i wud say the best so far no point changing to vista for win 7 is suppose to be fast boot up and all round speed.

Yeah… Vista sux for gaming especially with all the virus crap… why don’t some people out there go and buy a Windows XP Boot Disc and convert it to XP… like me!

I have vista ultimate 64bit and its amazing. Far more stable than XP ever was to me. All vista requires for games is that your computer is up to date, and don’t bother getting the 32bit version, The more RAM you have for vista the better.

CRYSIS DX10 64bit - all settings high, except texture; shaders and post processing, which are on very high gets 20 - 30fps

AMD Athlon X2 4800+
BFG 8800GT OC2
2 x 2 gig of DDR2 ram (800mhz)
Crappy MSI motherboard
£18 ASUS case

Vista is a lot better than everyone says…it has just worked flawlessly for me since day one!
