People are buying tons of expensive hardware just so they can enjoy their games to the fullest extent (and the prices of games nowadays ain’t peanuts either, with the dollar sinking ever so fast). However, as with most things, people often forget tweaking with their software just so their gaming experience would become better than before.

Actually, you don’t need to pay lots of money just so you can get the latest operating system. Actually, new doesn’t always mean it’s the best. One of the newest operating systems out there is the Windows Vista, and so far, not many people are happy regarding the usage of Vista on their gaming units.

One of the best operating systems out there for your PC is the Windows XP, and is also quite cheaper than the latest Windows release out there. Not harmful to the pocket too. But since Microsoft is really trying their best to wipe out this stable system, people are having problems trying to find a good replacement, since most stores only carry Vista nowadays.

Just remember to close any open programs that might cause lag or crashes (sorry Yahoo! Messenger), and if worse comes to worst remove extra software that might be taking up too much space.

Well, we’re not removing Vista for an option when it comes to gaming needs. However, after researching quite a bit (and even trying to run a couple of games, both new and old on Vista), it just doesn’t perform well enough for it’s price.

Vista is probably a prodigy in the making, but it might also be a flop (when it comes to gaming, respectively) like the Iron Man movie, thanks to GTA IV’s release.

So for people looking for an answer if it’s time to update their systems or not, sorry guys, we can’t say anything definite.

But if you’re not ready to let go of your XP yet, we think its ok to hold on a bit longer.
