This game, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, is unbelievable in the number of players that can interact and play together on this game. Traditionally, multiplayer games have the same type of story line with the same type of weapons, and even the same way to advance from one level to the next. The Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures places a whole new spin on multiplayer action-adventure games because the fighting and warfare takes place in first person and real time and the player is totally in control of his fighting moves. Each stroke of the sword is entirely controlled by the player. The player can do combo attacks by linking sword moves to magic spells and also to arrow attacks. Each attack is put into action with individual key commands.
Location
The game takes place in the eerie world of the Barbarian, Conan. The player jumps into the game as a recently freed slave from one of the three nations. The northern realm Aquilonia , Cimmeria, and Stygia are the three nations. Conan is the ruler of Aquilonia. Cimmeria is Conan’s homeland and is still barbarian territory. Stygia is the home of sorcerers and snake cults.
Characters
There are many character choices for the players. Cimmerian rangers attack from afar with bows. There are also warriors, wizards, thief, and priest. The characters can be customized by the player. The player can decide how to characterize his player with tattoos, scars, facial expressions, hair styles, and physical features. The female characters can be designed to look naughty, which explains why the game is rated for mature audiences only.
Players can be quite mutilating in their destruction throughout the game. Players fight against bandits, savages, demons, and even apes. New characters only have three attacks that they know when they begin, but as the game continues they learn more. Players can learn how to do attacks, like flinging their enemies backward. Enemies will use armor to protect themselves and their armor is shown as transparent white marks that will be lined up on one side of the character. The best results of an attack will come from attacking the side without armor.

The game play is in real time. It is precise and works from command to command.

Rating
Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures is rated “M” for mature. This probably because of the intense violence and the ladies in the game seem a little underdressed with their bikini-sized outfits.
