Activision and Blizzard Merge
The plans announced December 2, 2007 have recently come to a close. Activision, producer of major game titles such as Call of Duty and Guitar Hero have merged with Blizzard, creators of the #1 best selling massive multiplayer online role playing game: World of Warcraft with almost 11 million players. The new merged company will now be called Activision-Blizzard. The multi-billion dollar deal is planned to improve both companies in their never ending quest to create very high quality games for their players and all signs so far look to be very positive. Check out the story!
Being a Blizzard fan myself… I have come to expect high quality from them, which they deliver in shining colors. I personally hope they simply do not accept more franchises but instead focus on their already established ones such as Diablo. I’m sure, however, we have nothing to worry about as both companies have more than proven themselves in the past and will continue to create the quality games we’re accustomed to.

Making all that money each month off of WOW (of which I contributed to for awhile) has really boosted Blizzard to be one of the top dogs in the gaming industry. This merger could put them on top! Now they have a more console oriented division of the company that will have the financial backing, creativity and attention to detail that I expect and LOVE from Blizzard.
Huzzah!

I completely agree. I just hope if Blizzard is going to approach the console scene that they do it very carefully. They should let nothing should taint their image if they can help it.
