Activision Engages the Wii Community

Activision plans to create a set of games specifically designed with the Wii’s revolutionary controls and concepts in mind. “The Wii is introducing new audiences to gaming,” says Dave Oxford. (Activision Publishing) “Clearly, the Wii’s accessible controls are changing how the audience plays games and how we look at game design. This initiative is designed to showcase games that take full advantage of the Wii’s capabilities.” The new franchise is named “Wee 1st” and is made for very young gamers with simple controls and easy and fun games to play.
Their selection of games that will initiate their idea will be dancing games such as Dancing with the Stars™: Get Your Dance On, fishing games such as Rapala® Fishing Frenzy and sports games such as Little League® World Series 2008. The plan is to have these great products avaliable by the 2008 holiday season. Santa may be having a tougher time finding enough Wiis yet again this Christmas, but at least his bag will be a little lighter.
