Nintendo created the video game, Wii Fit, for the Wii console. Wii fit is a game that emphases and encourages fitness. The player uses the Wii Balance Board to perform the activities indicated on the game.
The Wii Balance Board measures a user’s weight and also calculates their center of gravity. The game will use that information with his or her height entered to calculate the player’s body mass index. The game has about forty different activities that the player can participate in. Some of the exercises are yoga, pushups, and some others. Wii Fit players can compare their level of fitness within the Wii Fit channel on the Wii Menu. Wii Fit keeps track of the player’s “Wii Fitness Age” by using a body test. The results are based on the player’s age, weight, and balance. Wii Fit is accompanying the rest of the Wii series, as the Wii Fit uses the Miis for presentation and gameplay.
Wii Fit was released to North America earlier this year. Japan experienced all the excited of the Wii Fitness as it was released there in November of 2007.
THE GAME
Nintendo dubbed the Wii Fit the Wii Health Pack prior to its release, then during the 2007 E3 press Conference it was presented as the Wii Fit. The Wii fit, first presented as the Wii Health Pack, was initially intended to be part of the whole Wii Series. Like many other games which have been designed by Wii Fit’s designer, Miyamoto, Wii Fit has been influenced by his day-to-day life. He also created Nintendogs. He created Wii Fit because he and his family enjoy exercising together and he wanted to make it easier and more fun for other families to do the same.
The Wii Balance Board has been in progress for more than two years and was actually inspired by the special needs of sumo wrestlers. GAMEPLAYWii Fit uses a completely unique controller. It is called the Wii Balance Board, which can measure the player’s weight and center of gravity. After the player enters his or her height, Wii Fit will then calculate the player’s body mass index. Yoga and push ups are among the forty activities within Wii Fit. Players can also compare their fitness by accessing the channel for Wii Fitness with the Wii Menu. The game also tracks the “Wii Fitness Age” of each player.
