Critical Hit - Max Payne
Max Payne
Mark Wahlberg is Max Payne and as someone who played the games, I have to say that I
enjoyed the movie. The beginning was a tad slow to get the story going but once they finally did, then it was on.
The game is all about the slow motion fighting and such but the movie only has a few instances of slow motion so that was a little disappointing. The plot however, is kept extremely close to the games plots, including all the Norse mythology. Sam Lake who helped create the games, helped write the movie and thus it pays off. (more…)

Critical Hit - City of Ember
City of Ember
Here’s an interesting, simple but fun film. The story takes place in a city called Ember.
Lights shine high above the city which are powered by a giant generator. Outside of the city is pitch black. (No, Vin Diesel isn’t involved) No one is allowed to venture into the darkness and thus everyone stays in Ember.
At the beginning, a group of young kids, including Doon Harrow and Lina Mayfleet, have their Advancement Day. They choose their life long profession from a hat. Doon & Lina don’t get what they want, so they switch and are both happy.
Throughout the film, these two find clues that show them what the REAL situation of Ember is about. (more…)
