Red Faction introduced us to the true meaning of fully destructible environments when the original game was released on the Playstation 2, and the series returns in the form of Red Faction: Guerilla which once again breaks new ground in the same field.

Red Faction: Guerilla is set 50 years after the events of the original Red Faction game and places you in the role of a roque militant, fronting the recently re-established Red Faction movement which aims to rise up against the Earth Defense Force, who previously claimed Mars stating only good intentions which turned out to be false.

The open world environment seen in the original Red Faction game is referenced in Red Faction: Guerilla, but in very small parts. Instead developers Volition have created a whole host of new maps for our enjoyment, all of which you can rampage round with a host of fresh, new weapons too! 

Without doubt though the major selling point of Red Faction: Guerilla is once again the level of destruction you are able to inflict on your surroundings. Almost everything that you come across can be damaged, destroyed or used in some way - making for a game experience of infinite discovery and timeless replayability. You will never play Red Faction: Guerilla the same way twice.
