Formula One is by far the most popular motor racing sport in the world, and the official video game franchise has had it’s ups and downs over the years – sadly in recent times it has been downs more often than not! But Formula One 2009 is heading our way, and fast, and promises to turn the official series fortunes on it’s head.

It has been a long time since the official Formula One game series challenged the likes of Gran Turismo, Project Gotham Racing and Need for Speed in terms of sales figures on recent gaming platforms, but the power is out there right now for the developers of Formula One 2009 to give it a real good go – and the early screenshots and trailers of Formula One 2009 suggest they are ready to do just that.

At the moment there are very few details about the game that have been made public, but when they are revealed Cheat Masters will be among the first to bring them to you! As an official game it will of course feature the full rule-set of the current Formula One season, and Formula One 2009 will also boast all official cars, and drivers too.

The release schedule is has been set out roughly, but with no actual dates given by publishers Codemasters. Formula One 2009 will appear on PSP and Wii later this year, but will not appear on the XBox 360, Playstation 3 and PC until 2010. Stick with us for Formula One 2009 developments as they happen!
