Batman becomes 70 years old this year, and the one they all call The Dark Knight has never been a more popular figure that he seems to be right now. Not only have we seen great success attached to recent movies in the Batman franchise, but the same can be said for the characters video-game exploits and that looks set to continue in Batman: Arkham Asylum.

As you would expect from a game spin-off from a huge movie franchise, Batman: Arkham Asylum boasts some incredibly impressive cinematic cut-scenes from the very beginning, and the gameplay looks set to match those movie sequences in terms of full on, adrenaline pumping action.

Having captured the Joker who is arguably the world’s most formidable super-villain Batman opts to accompany him to the place he belongs - a high security Asylum in Arkham. As you arrive at the facility you will see some familiar faces such as Commissioner Gordon and Killer Croc, who fans of the Batman brand will recognise without any introduction. However, The Dark Knight himself foresees trouble ahead, as the Joker has given himself up far too easily.

This sets the scene nicely for what promises to be a great action title which fans of Batman, from the very beginning to present day, will certainly be demanding. Batman: Arkham Asylum will be in stores on June 19th 2009 and will be available for the PC, Playstation 3 and XBox 360.
