Infamous - Updated Impressions

Last month we took a first look at Infamous, arguably the most anticipate title of 2009 so far. New information has now come to light and with it’s release now just 10 days away we thought we should share what we know with you guys!
The only place to begin is a change to the release date. Despite originally being brought forward from a June release to May 26th 2009, this has now been changed once more. The new and final release date for Infamous is May 29th 2009 so whatever happens game fans, it will be with us by the end of the month!

NEW INFAMOUS TRAILER |
If you haven’t yet heard of Infamous, check out our first impressions article from last month before reading on. Once you have read through that, no doubts should remain in your mind regarding the potential of Infamous as a new gaming franchise. It looks set to be big - very big.
What we have learnt apart from the new release date is more information about Cole and his abilities. It was originally thought that his electrical powers served only to attack enemies, but no detail was given as to how using these new found talents effected Cole as a person - or whether the powers could be used only for good, or also for evil - but now we know!
Morality is upto you in Infamous! If you wish to unleash your lethal powers on innocent unsuspecting victims then so be it, you have the freedom to do so but this may have various repercusions later in the game as you may be recognised as evil, rather than as the ‘hero’ type figure morality would encourage you to be.
When using your electrical powers in Infamous, Cole will become drained however he can re-charge himself so to speak. Scattered throughout Empire City will be vaious ‘outlets’ with which your powers can become recharged. Also as you progress through the game and discover new abilities you will be able to recharge in small doses by sliding along electrical cables running from building to building - which we found pretty cool!
Your ultimate goal, as Cole in Infamous, is to find out why you and only you survived the enormous blast at the start of the game. Working your way to the answers you seek promises to be as entralling a journey as you’re likely to find in a video game for quite some time. Infamous hits shelves May 29th, pre-order today!
