The Conduit

The Nintendo Wii may be, perhaps unfairly, tagged a family-orientated console due to the large number of party games and titles that lack maturity, but the forthcoming first-person shooter The Conduit, exclusive to the Wii, is attracting the attention of hardened fans of the genre.
There have been very few serious games, for the want of a better description, which have made any real impact on the Nintendo Wii but that looks set to change with the imminent arrival of The Conduit - a first person shooter in which you are challenged to defend the planet from an aggressive alien invasion.

THE CONDUITÂ TRAILER |
The Conduit puts you in the role of a rogue Secret Service agent called upon by a group known as The Trust who deal with situations that are kept from the general public “for their own good”, and as you would expect, an alien invasion is such a situation.
The Conduit appears to be something between Half Life and Halo, which can only be good news for those awaiting it’s release which is currently set for June 12th 2009. The range of weapons is impressive and so is the amount and types of damage those weapons can inflict.
The aliens that you will come across are intruguing creatures to say the least. As you progress through The Conduit you will encounter various different types of enemies - some will be familiar to those you may have seen in games like Halo and Doom, but of course they are not exactly the same. On top of those more generic alien forms though there are a whole host of bizarre creatures that are purely the creation of the imaginative folk at High Voltage Inc who are developing The Conduit.
The Conduit looks set to take the Nintendo Wii by storm, and may well set a new standard for “serious” games on the platform to aspire to match, or better.
