By tying thousands of balloon to his home, 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen sets out to fulfill a lifelong dream his wife and he shared to see the wilds of South America. Right after lifting off he learns that he isn’t alone as, Russell, a wilderness explorer has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip.

From there the movie takes off into a wild world of Paradise Falls where Carl plans to plant his house and live out the rest of his days. Along the way, Russell assists the elderly for a Wilderness badge and they meet the talking dog, Dug. They also encounter a wild bird which Russel names Kevin.

All in all this movie is worth seeing once. Why? I don’t see a lot of rewatchability. (yeah, I made that word up) I’ve seen all Pixar Animation Studios has ever offered and this is by far the saddest story yet. I can say it ends well and has plenty of funny moments in the film but the set up to Up is depressing. Maybe it was just me. I won’t say anymore and just let you decide.

I will recommend to see it as its a Pixar film and they are always good. All ages are safe to see it and the voice acting is pretty good with Edward Asner (as Carl) and Christopher Plummer (as Charles Muntz) making the most out of little to work with. Until next time, keep your wires connected properly and watch out for those Critical Hits!
