Company of Heroes has established itself as the top video game franchise when it comes to real-time World War strategy. Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor is the latest standalone expansion which aims to improve the overall experience of the game and add some brand new game modes, too.

The Nintendo Wii may be, perhaps unfairly, tagged a family-orientated console due to the large number of party games and titles that lack maturity, but the forthcoming first-person shooter The Conduit, exclusive to the Wii, is attracting the attention of hardened fans of the genre.

Since SI Games relieved their control of the Championship Manager series and turned their attention to Football Manager alongside SEGA, they quickly established it as the leading football (or soccer) management simulator available. Football Manager 2009, or Worldwide Soccer Manager 2009 to international gamers, looks to continue that trend.

NHL 2010

As the defending Stanley Cup Champions, Detroit Red Wings take on the Chicago Blackhaws in the West and the Carolina Hurricanes take on the defending Eastern Confrence Champions, Pittsburg Penguins in the East, the first details begin to spill out for NHL 2010! Since the release of the first Terminator film back in 1984, the genre has consistantly reminded us of one thing - robots will turn nasty, and they will turn on you. This is once again evident in the videogame adaptation of the new Terminator: Salvation film which stars Christian Bale.

The Broken Sword series of games has had a long life dating back to the mid nineties, and has proved itself without doubt one of the leading titles in the point-and-click genre alongside Monkey Island, and Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars, which appeared on the Playstation in 1995 has been given a makeover and released for the Nintendo Wii and DS.

Batman becomes 70 years old this year, and the one they all call The Dark Knight has never been a more popular figure that he seems to be right now. Not only have we seen great success attached to recent movies in the Batman franchise, but the same can be said for the characters video-game exploits and that looks set to continue in Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Yet another arcade racing title you might say when you first come across Disney Interactive’s Split/Second, but this is far from just another arcade racing title! Split/Second promises to bring a whole new meaning to the genre and raise a bar which is already out of reach for most.
