Critical Hit - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the sixth installment in the Harry Potter storyline which hit theaters this week. People seem to love or hate this story and I’m not referring to the Half-Blood Prince, but rather the Harry Potter story in whole. I am a fan. I’ve read the books and seen all the movies. I enjoy the movies but not nearly as much as the books but the last two movies have captured the essence of the books very well. The bottom line is that most books don’t translate well to the movie screen and is why they were books in the first place. Hollywood just has no creativity and has to steal from every print source they can. So, this is all I’ll say about the books and how they translate to the big screen as this is supposed to be a review about a movie. (more…)

Zenimax Media buys id Software!

Recently, Zenimax Media bought id Software. You may not have ever heard of Zenimax Media but they are the parent group (as most companies you know of have a parent company) of Bethesda Game Studios. id is best known for its Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein franchises. Both studios have promised to remain at their best as proven by their executives signing long-term contracts to continue their jobs. The question is…what does this mean to all of us gamers? (more…)
