One of the most lauded titles from E3 2009 will hit shelves later this year with intentions of following in the foot-steps of it’s multi Game of the Year award winning predecessor. That game is Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

The beginning of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is typical of the Call of Duty titles, as we are taken through a dramatic and highly exhilirating animated sequence from a first person perspective. You find yourself making your way up an ice-covered vertical cliff with the help of your climbing hooks and a trusted colleague - will you fall to your death? It certainly puts doubts in your mind!

The gameplay itself that we expect to see in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will resemble that of previous titles in the Call of Duty series, as there is absolutely no reason to mess around with what has already proved a winning control and gameplay experience time and time again. What will differ though is the storyline and the environments you are taken through as you progress through the various challenges of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

New weapons will also feature in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, one in particular is more interested (to us) than the others though few details have been revealed on it so far. It appears to be some kind of rifle with a radar attachment to assist you with the location of nearby enemies - a very handy piece of kit given the conditions you are faced with.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled for release on PC, XBox 360 and Playstation 3 on November 10th 2009. Map packs for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will appear on XBox live, forcing PC and Playstation 3 gamers to wait that little bit longer to experience new multiplayer games - but we are sure they will be worth waiting for whatever your preferred gaming system may be!
