Dirt 2

Dirt 2 is speeding in our direction, but expectations have been set very high by the huge popularity achieved by the original Dirt game from Codemasters. Whether or not Dirt 2 can match or exceed this will be a case of wait and see, but so far all the signs are positive.
If you’ve not played the original Dirt title it is essential a follow on from the much-lauded Colin McRae Rally series on older generation platforms, only with much more attitude and you guessed it - dirt. Dirt 2 looks to build on the success of the original in many ways, not least the overall appearance of the title as the games’ menu system has been given a complete overhaul - but needless to say that doesn’t really add too much to the gameplay experience.

What will add to the gameplay experience in Dirt 2 though is the introduction of Stadium Rally Events. If you’ve played Grid you will have took a spin around a man-made rally track infront of crowds of upto 40,000 crazy fans, but in Dirt 2 that number grows to a massive 120,000! Needless to say that is going to create one heck of an athmosphere when combined with the sound of your engine, the dirt kicking up in all directions and of course the various triggered events situated around the tracks.
Dirt 2 promises to be a pure, adrenaline-fuelled speeder which will satisfy the most demanding racers out there. It’s due to hit stores on September 11th 2009 for XBox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii, PC, PSP and Nintendo DS.
