The Need for Speed series is the one racing series that every gamer has played at some point in recent years, not only because it’s a great franchise in general but also because so many different variations have come from the series on all formats. Need for Speed Nitro on the Wii and DS is the latest.

Need for Speed Nitro is the first title in the series to be exclusively developed for Nintendo consoles. Why? We have no idea, but to make sure it appeals to the Nintendo fanbase as a whole Need for Speed Nitro has a bright, saturated cartoon visual style which is slightly unusual when compared to previous Need for Speed titles - which Nintendo fans will undoubtedly love.

Just because it looks a little cartoon-like though, doesn’t mean to say it’s a kids game because it is anything but that. Need for Speed Nitro is just as serious a racing title as all games before it in the franchise and may even spawn sequals of it’s own in the years to come.

The gameplay has been tweaked to ensure Need for Speed veterans and newcomers to the racing genre can pick up and play to a good standard in a short amount of time which again will serve Nintendo fans well. Need for Speed Nitro is set for release on November 17th 2009.
