While Guitar Hero has spawned spin-off titles for some of the world’s most popular ‘hard’ rock bands such as Metallica, the competing Rock Band series have signed up The Beatles! Possibly a stroke of genius which could see the franchise leap ahead.

Though today’s youngsters would not consider it fact, The Beatles are one of the world’s most popular rock bands ever, and in many peoples opinion, the greatest. Their harmonies and softer music style compared to the likes of Metallica and Van Halen may be just the twist the rhythm games genre needs for a new leading title to emerge.

The Beatles: Rock Band features 45 songs spawning the entirity of The Beatles fame - from their very first album ’til the very last so there is sure to be something everybody loves. The replica instruments bundled with the game are rumoured to be good replicas of The Beatles famous instruments - such as McCartney’s Hofner Bass and the Rickenbacker 325 guitar famously used by John Lennon.

The graphical styling in The Beatles: Rock Band is what you would typically associate with The Beatles and the time in which they were at their peak, and the actual band member charactarisations bare a very close resembelance to the original band members, too.

The Beatles: Rock Band is going to be big - very big and looks set to be a smash hit all over the globe, which is fitting for The Beatles! The game hits stores on September 9th 2009.
