Enter the stunningly beautiful world of Pandora two years before the events of the forthcoming science-fiction film, Avatar, from those behind Terminator and Titanic, in Avatar: The Game.

The film is already attracting much attention and is set to be one of 2009’s biggest when it finally reaches cinema’s on December 16th and 17th, and see’s you enter the world of Pandora - an alien inhabited moon - as a soldier within a military invasion force intent of retrieving vital resources from the alien planet.

Avatar: The Game will pit you as both a military soldier, and as one of the alien kind at different parts of the game and for very different reasons, fighting for very different goals. How exactly the transition between the two gameplay variations takes place we don’t know at this stage, but it happens and promises to be a game of unrivalled variety.

From what we’ve seen, Avatar: The Game is not your average movie-tag title and may well spawn sequals in it’s own right. It looks absolutely stunning, with thanks in part to the modified Far Cry 2 game engine it has been developed on and the team behind it who have also contributed to great games such as Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and of course Far Cry itself.

Avatar: The Game will be released a few weeks before the movie, as it hits stores on December 4th for PC, XBox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, DS and PSP! Keep an eye on this one, as we’ll bring you more as the release date approaches.
