Darksiders: Wrath of War could potentially be considered one of the videogames industry’s best kept secrets, as it does not seem to be generating the hype that we feel it should be. Prepare for an apocalyptic action game with all the frantic brawling you could wish for!
The game was first announced at E3 2007, and from that day it has somehow been overshadowed by other titles at the various industry events such as TGS and GamesCom, however Darksiders: Wrath of War is now beginning to get noticed, and rightfully so as it promises to be one of the most action packed titles we’ve seen for some time.

The storyline is nothing new at first glimpse, as the in-game events take place after the apocolypse. However you’ve not been able to play as one of the four horsemen of the apocolypse before, have you? We thought not – but this time you do, and he goes by the name of War. Needless to say he is one bad ass, built like a proverbial brown-house and does nothing without malice as he attempts to slay the demons who have devestated the planet.
The combat system is apparantly easy to master thanks to wonderfully intuitive controls, but if you do struggle you are aided in parts by your trusty steed – a roaring beast of a horse named Ruin. Darksiders: Wrath of War, though only seen in trailers, looks and sounds fantastic and promises to be an exhilirating game experience throughout.
Darksiders: Wrath of War is set to appear on Playstation 3 and XBox 360 on January 8th 2010.
