MotoGP 09/10

Games which boast the official licences of high profile sporting events typically release a game towards the start of a new real-life campaign, but this is not the case for MotoGP 09/10, but the delay does allow it’s developers to incorporate two seasons data into one game.

Since Capcom took control of the official MotoGP license last year the limitations of some previous instalments in the franchise, when it was in the hands of THQ, have been relinquished. However due to developmental preferences, MotoGP 09/10 has been pushed back to a March 2010 release date despite that season already being well underway, and almost complete.

The good news though, is that all of the most upto date statistics, tracks, teams and riders for the 2010 MotoGP season will be made available to owners of the game via an online download, essentially giving gamers one and a half games in one package! You can play it one season behind and get a touch of retro gaming in, or update it from the off.

Early visual representations of MotoGP 09/10 such as screenshots and gameplay trailers seem to show the game looking better than ever before, but with the advances in hardware this will be nothing more than expected – though the overall animation of the riders and their bikes appears to have been improved dramatically.

MotoGP 09/10 promises to give you a more true sense of the speed you’re travelling at than previous games have done, and when you’re full throttle you pickup a hint of motion blur quite similar to that in Need for Speed Shift which adds to the games athmosphere and does actually aim to give you something of an adrenaline boost. Hopefully the promising early signs MotoGP 09/10 is showing will be continued until it’s release to make for an un-missable racing experience!
