Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce

When you hear the name Dynasty Warriors, you automatically think of a samurai-themed straight forward beat-em-up, as that popular formula has spawned numorous instalments over the last decade. However, Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce takes the series in a different direction.

This time around, role playing game elements have been added and whilst many feared this could ruin things for fans of the series, indications from the PSP version of Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce which was released last year suggest otherwise, hence the decision taken by publishers Koei to bring it to the Playstation 3 and XBox 360 this February.

The fast paced beat-em-up action that previous Dynasty Warriors title is famed has certainly not been sacrificed to make way for this new path for the series – instead it has simply been enhanced, as the new RPG style additions to the game complement it so well. Yes you can still go head to head with your enemies in a button mashing brawl, and come out on top more often than not, but in Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce you are rewarded more for doing so thanks to the new levelling system.

There is also now a town for you to explore which hides many quests, you can collect items that allow you to learn a craft, and without doubt the most exciting new feature is online multiplayer modes for upto four players at once. At the moment we can only imagine just how much fun it’s going to be going up against friends, from near or far, in the frantic combat style that is Dynasty Warriors!

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce is out now on PSP, but is shortly due for release on Playstation 3 and XBox 360 on February 16th 2010 in North America, and February 19th 2010 for the rest of the world.
