Role playing games are released on a regular basis, but good role playing games remain few and far between – but fans of the genre will be split down the middle next week as two promising titles hit stores on the same day in North America, Last Rebellion being one of them.
The other title, which you could say is going head to head with Last Rebellion, is Risen. The two titles will spark more gaming debate as they are being released exclusive to rival consoles with Last Rebellion hitting the Playstation 3, and Risen coming to the XBox 360. Both titles are released on February 23rd 2010.

LAST REBELLION TRAILER |
Last Rebellion was released earlier this year in Japan where it proved relatively successful. We use the term relatively successful as it seems all role playing games released in Japan have to live up to the high standards associated with the Final Fantasy titles to really be taken seriously by role players in their masses.
The storyline, which is usually key to an RPGs success, is a good one in Last Rebellion. The world is torn by conflict between two gods with a difference to settle, and a few select humans (obviously with special powers, otherwise it wouldn’t make a great RPG right?) have been chosen to regain some level of normality. Needless to say there is much more to it with almost countless twists and turns along the way, but we’ll leave the discovery to you.
Unusually, you play as two main characters named Nine and Aisha who both have unique powers of their own, as well as weaknesses. The traditional role playing game rules apply in Last Rebellion regarding levelling, gaining experience and upgrading your abilities so fans of the genre should have no trouble grasping the control and gameplay methods.
We’ll have to wait and see if Last Rebellion lives up to the hype it has managed to generate, or even match the standard of rival title Risen which is has to be said at this stage looks the better of the two.
