With visuals that match, if not better those seen in the instant hit that was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the latest entry into the Battlefield franchise, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, looks a dead cert to capitalisz on the gaming industry’s current infactuation with military shooters.
The events in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 take place within the aftermath of what you saw in the previous Battlefield title, but exactly how long after remains unknown. War is fierce between the two world superpowers, the United States and Russia and as the russians encrouch into South America and threaten to unleash a superweapon, you and your Bad Company are called upon.

As fans of these modern tactical shooters would expect, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 boasts a great range of online multiplayer game modes on each of the platforms that it will appear on – which if you don’t already know are PC, Playstation 3 and XBox 360. But what will surprise many is the presence of a single player campaign with real depth, playability and an intriguing storyline behind it – which is something of a rarity in recent military shooter titles.
Developers DICE chose Battlefield: Bad Company 2 specifically to boast their single player prowess, and it certainly proves that they know their stuff, arguably better than any other developers within the genre. Everything in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 appears to tie in seemlessly, and although we do try to point out any flaws in a game for you guys, it’s hard to find any here.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is as close to the front-line that most of us will get, thanks to a combination of our lack of courage, and the games incredibly detailed visuals which as we already mentioned even look better than what we saw in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – which is a huge achievement. Weapons, characters, vehicles and most of all the environment and special effects all combine to give you what promises to be an unforgettable game experience, online and off.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is released for PC, XBox 360 and Playstation 3 on March 5th 2010. We suggest you pre-order it now to avoid disappointment, it’s going to be massive!
