The Show

Another year has passed and it’s time for another Major League Baseball title. Only time will tell whether MLB 10: The Show can live up to the high standards set by the 2009 edition from the same franchise.

Due to the success of MLB 09: The Show, this years version is essentially the same in many areas – at least on first glimpse. But that has to be considered a good thing, and a great decision by developers Baseball Sim – afterall, you can’t fix something that isn’t broken right?

MLB 10: The Show does promise some new additions though. The obvious changes are there such as up to date team and player rosters and slightly improved visuals and animations. One less obvious change which promises to add a lot to the overall game experience in MLB 10: The Show is that of lively crowds, who will now sing specific-player chants and react to the in-game events in ways they didn’t previously.

New moves have also been implimented including some cool new pick-offs, and some new routines have been added to the training mode. These changes may sound minor, but any improvement is a great improvement when the game was so good last time out.

Finally MLB 10: The Show offers some great online multiplayer modes, which is nothing more than expected by today’s standards. What’s great about the online modes is that each mode supports full seasons, which should keep you going back time and time again.

If you like baseball, MLB 10: The Show promises to be the closest you are going to get to the real thing in your living room. Pick up your copy! It hits the Playstation 3, Playstation 2 and PSP on March 2nd 2010.
