When it hit the PC game shelves back in 2007 the original Crysis was instantly heralded as one of the best examples of just how good a game can look graphically. Crysis 2 looks to build on that standard, and excel in other areas too. This should be big!
The developers behind Crysis 2, Crytek, made their name with their release of Far Cry shortly before the original Crysis. Both titles displayed stunning visuals – though the type of environments we saw were quite similar. Crysis 2 however takes us to the streets of New York City in the midst of an alien invasion – a very different place to be, but the visuals once again stand out as something pretty phenomenal.

To be impressed so much by a games’ visuals now is no lean feat in itself given the high standards reached by many games in recent years, but to continue by saying we’ve only seen the XBox 360 version should add yet more excitement to PC gaming fans of the series – as that will undoubtedly look better still.
Crysis 2 will mark Crytek’s first cross-platform release too, as it is in development for PC, XBox 360 and Playstation 3. This has annoyed some PC gamers, but given the debatable commercial failings of the original it’s an expected move.
The gameplay itself see’s a slight shake up of Nomad’s power focus, from strength, speed, stealth and power to strength, stealth, power and vision with speed being compressed into the power set. The ways you can use these abilities in Crysis 2 is slightly different from before, too, but we’ll leave that for you to discover.
Multiplayer modes are of course expected in Crysis 2 for each platform it’s appearing on, though they have not been confirmed as yet. This is potentially going to be the biggest game of 2010, so we’ll definitely be bringing you more on Crysis 2 as it happens – stick with Cheat Masters as we approach it’s fourth quarter 2010 release.
