Not long ago it seems the gaming industry was completely over-saturated with rhythm based music games, particularly from the Rock Band and Guitar Hero franchises. Green Day: Rock Band though, marks the release of the first prominent title from the genre of 2010 – and we’ve kind of missed them!
There are no prizes for guessing which band take the spotlight in Green Day: Rock Band, it’s Green Day! The retro punk-pop band are possibly another surprise choice by Harmonix, as were The Beatles for their previous Rock Band epic but that decision proved a successful one, and we see no reason to believe things will be any different this time round.

GREEN DAY: ROCK BANDÂ TRAILER |
Green Day: Rock Band will feature 47 tracks from the band’s lucrative career spanning decades, with three of their most popular albums appearing in the game in their entirity. Those albums are American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown and Dookie – with Dookie apparantly being the most requested by some distance.
The quick-play modes we saw in The Beatles: Rock Band are present once again in Green Day: Rock Band, things wouldn’t have been the same without it! It allows you and/or your friends to jump into the game at any point, be it half-way through a track or from the very beginning. Other modes are yet to be confirmed, but if it’s Green Day it’s got to be good right?
Green Day: Rock Band will be released for XBox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii on May 31st 2010.
