The name Tom Clancy is generally associated with top quality first person shooters like Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six, and also the stealth classic Splinter Cell – but Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2, an aerial combat title, is nothing to be scoffed at either!

The original Tom Clancy’s HAWX marked the first venture of the franchise into the skies, and it was an all round good attempt at an aerial combat game, and was certainly the stand out title in that particular genre of it’s time – as the days of Ace Combat fame had passed.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 takes what was good about the original title, mainly the fast paced frantic combat sequences, and keeps them well and truly intact. On top of that, virtually every other aspect of the game has seen some kind of improvement and Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 looks set to be yet another medallion on the military veterans chest.

The control system has been tweaked for the better, and you will be introduced to the changes in the opening sequences of the game so you’ll have them mastered before you know it! It’s also not long before you are introduced to the weaponry that lies beneath you – not just standard gunfire but also precision bombs and rockets, both of which have their uses throughout the course of the game that’s for sure.

One thing we are looking forward to is the fact that the entire single player campaign in Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 can be played in co-operative mode, so a friend can assist you in battle from beginning to end which should make for some great gameplay – and a few pointed fingers of blame, too, when things don’t quite go to plan!

Tom Clancy’s HAWX 2 will be released for PC, Playstation 3, XBox 360 and Nintendo Wii. The release date has not yet been confirmed but we’ll bring you that once it is public.
