It’s all too rare to find a first person shooter which boasts any kind of originality, but we are excited to say that Brink is one of those rare titles that can proudly say it brings gamers a completely new take to the FPS genre.

The storyline doesn’t particular make Brink stand out from the crowd, but it’s not bad by any means. The events of Brink take place in the year 2035 in a city known as The Ark, which bizarrely has been dubbed a floating city as it’s based on an enormous floating vessel – as the planets landscapes were no longer inhabitable – but all is not well on The Ark, and two warring factions – the Security and the Resistance – are there for you to side with.

Each of the two factions in Brink give you a unique experience throughout the game, and on many different levels too so Brink could realistically considered two games in one – two great games, too! You choose your side, followed by your player role (which you can change seemlessly during the game to grant yourself different abilities) and you can personalise your player, and the personalisation system goes into so great detail – with new unlockable items, features and outfits to earn as you play.

Even your weapons are fully upgradable in Brink! As you progress, you can increase your weapons ability in terms of range, accuracy, damage level and stability and of course there are plenty of weapons to choose from. Another unique feature in Brink is something the developers are calling SMART which allows you to easily move around tricky objects by climbing under or oven them, or moving athletically to designated points at the click of a button.

Brink appears to have everything you could wish for in a first person shooter, great environments, great characters, a decent back story and the fast, relentless fire-blazing action we all craze so much – and you can even take it all online!
