It may be six months away from it’s scheduled release date, but proved to be the most talked about title at the recent E3 event in Los Angeles with fans of the original stunned at the fact Dead Space 2 looks – somehow –  even better!

The Sprawl is the new, incredibly eerie setting for what lurks within Dead Space 2 and from what we’ve seen this neglected lunar city looks fantastically detailed, and we are left with no doubt what so ever that it hides countless nasty surprises as the original title did.

Many fans of the first Dead Space title feared that Dead Space 2 would be more gung-ho, which would detract from the athmosphere which made the original what it was – but thankfully that has proved not to be the case, and Dead Space 2 is just as – if not more – disturbing than the first, even when nothing is going on!

Another welcomed return, sort of, is that of the dread Necromorphs which are considered by many to be the creepiest video-game villains of all time, and just when you thought they couldn’t get any sicker, Dead Space 2 proves you wrong. You will also encounter new enemies, but to even things out you’ll have new weapons at your disposal with which to tame them.

What really stands out in Dead Space 2 are the visuals, as they did in the original Dead Space. It’s the detailed, incredibly isolated environment combined with the often peaceful athmosphere which makes Dead Space 2 a frightening prospect – but it’s the kind of fear you can’t turn back from. You won’t be able to stop playing until you go that one step further, until you find out what exactly that noise was, or until that thing you’re looking for actually finds you first!

Dead Space 2 is being developed for PC, Playstation 3 and XBox 360 and is due for release on January 25th 2011.
