I guess it’s nothing to be surprised about, but since Pokémon it’s a pretty big deal gaming-wise around the globe I thought you’d be interested in this juicy bit of news.

Back in 2006 Pokémon Diamond & Pearl established a new record in pokémon sales chart with approximately 1,600,000 copies of the game in the first week. Well…this isn’t even close to the new figures that GameFreaks and Nintendo reached this year, the pocket monsters franchise managed to sell a WHOOPING 2,637,285 copies the first 2 DAYS.

Really, I mean REALLY impressive numbers. The Pokémon Co. makes the release event something huge by getting tour buses around malls and fast food joints featuring a DEMO of the game so there’s no chance you’ll be able to dodge the Poké-frenzy!!

Meanwhile on this side of the earth, we can only wait and hope the game arrives here in the second quarter of 2011
