Just in time for the 10-year anniversary of the PlayStation2, Sony has announced a new Limited Edition Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story 3: The Video Game Bundle for PlayStation 2 to be released on October 31st.
Sony announced on the official US Playstation blog that they will be bringing this new PS2 bundle that includes the PS2 system along with Toy Story 3: The Video Game so fans can join in with Buzz, Woody and the rest of the Toy Story gang and enjoy their favorite console.
[The new PS2 Toy Story bundle will be available for $99 (MSRP) on October 31st.]
After a decade of bringing great games, isn’t it time to just let it die already? Many fans are wondering why, after a decade of sales, Sony is trying to push the PS2 with another anniversary bundle. Some feel they should just let it die already and move on with new features, additions and bundles for the PS3.
We know that Toy Story 3 is hot right now but couldn’t we have a TS3 bundle or maybe… just maybe… that GT5 bundle everyone’s been holding out for.
We love Toy Story and we love the PlayStation 2 but if you don’t have one by now, are you really going to buy one now? Pawn shops and yard sales everywhere are piled up with PS2s as people trade out and upgrade to the PS3.
Maybe this is Sony’s way of giving the PS2 one final “sha-bang” for its 10th birthday before they put it on the shelf for good. What do you think?
