It’s been a while since I added something that had to do with us actually being able to play or even get a close look at one of this things. Well apparently we’re not too far away! Satoru Iwata, Nintendo CEO announced that a public 3DS demo event will be happening in Japan on January 8th at the Makuhari Messe convention center next to Tokyo.
However Iwata didn’t actually confirmed much else. Our biggest interest here is of course which titles will be available to actually play. Let’s remember that last E3 demonstration was just a demo that was not interactive, so we’re talking about actual gameplay here, so it is a big deal.
The thing is, recently a list came up featuring the games that will actually be in the shelves along with the actual console, so here’s that list:
Spring 2011
The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time 3D
Nintendogs + Cats
PilotWings Resort
Steel Diver
TBA
Kid Icarus
Animal Crossing
Mario Kart
Paper Mario
Star Fox 64 3D
Wanna know my guess?? Well I would probably go with Nintendogs+Cats. I mean, it’s easy to play, easy on the eyes, aimed to pretty much everyone (especially in Japan where virtual pet games have huge success due to the lack of actual space inside apartments to actually raise a real pet). Although knowing these people we shouldn’t be surprised if they come up with some unannounced title just to blow people away.
Anyway, Nintendo must step up their game if they expect to own the handheld industry one more time. They have won the battle against the PSP for a long time, but Sony’s PSP2 promised to pack a huge punch and top the 3DS in every aspect except 3D. Who will prevail? Let’s be fair saying only time will tell.
@Greenmousa, out.
