Good evening, everyone. Today, we have something that many of you may find very interesting. This “something” is, of course, a guide. This guide is for Fallout: New Vegas. We’ll be working with a side quest for the game called “Three Card Bounty.” In this side quest, for the NCR faction, you will be acquiring heads for a bounty. We have this guide set up for you in easy-to-follow steps that will make this side quest a breeze to complete.

Step 1 – Find Major Dhatri

To start this quest, you must find Major Dhatri. He will be located in Camp McCarran. What you want to do is speak to him. He is having trouble with the Fiends, and he will tell you that. You want to talk to him about any missions that he may have for you. He will offer you the bounty idea. He will let you pick which of the tree bounties you’d like to tackle first. After choosing one, it will activate the side quest. Also, remember always to save before going for any of the tagets, so you can try again if any of the heads are mangled. You want them to be intact.

For the purposes of keeping this a step-by-step guide, we chose the best one to start with: Cook-Cook.

Step 2 – Obtain Cook-Cook’s Head

We’re going to begin with the target named Cook-Cook. You can find him Northwest of the Poseidon Gas Station. There are several ways to kill Cook-Cook, but we’ll just stay with the top three.
Remember that before you attack any of the targets, leave behind any companions, to prevent them from mangling the head of any of the targets.

1) The first major way is to kill Queenie, which is Cook-Cook’s favorite brahmin. Once you do this, Cook-Cook will go crazy and begin attacking the other Fiends. If he kills all the other Fiends, just finish him off. If the other Fiends kill Cook-Cook, kill the rest of them.

2) The second major way is to Snipe the target and the Fiends. This is probably the easiest and safest way to do it. It’s probably the preferred choice if you have a decent sniper rifle with you. The best way to do this is from long range with armor piercing rounds.

3) The third way to do this is just to run in, guns-a-blazing. Just kill him and all the five to eight Fiends. Just make sure that you get Cook-Cook dead.

After killing Cook-Cook, no matter the method, you must search his inventory. He should have either “Cook-Cook’s Head” or “Cook-Cook’s Mangled Head.” Take it. If you got the mangled head, you must go back to your save point and try it again.

Step 3 – Get Cook-Cook’s Head to Major Dhatri

If you got Cook-Cook’s head intact, great job! Bring it back to Camp McCarran. Speak to Major Dhatri. Tell him that you would like to collect the bounty and show him Cook-Cook’s head. You will receive 250 caps and 100 experience from Dhatri as payment. Now you will choose your next target. You can now also talk to Corporal Betsy, and you can receive 360 NCR money. You can also grab an extra 300 caps from talking to Pretty Sarah, in Westside, about killing Cook-Cook.

For the purposes of keeping this a step-by-step guide, we chose who was best to do second: Violet.

Step 4 – Obtain Violet’s Head

If you go a short distance South of the Poseidon Gas Station, you will find the next target. She is named Violet. She is armed with a hunting rifle. Also, there are many dogs with here. There can be up to eight of them. What you ideally what to do is take out all of her dogs, including the “Violetta” one. before you take Violet herself out. You can probably just run in there and get it done, but you can snipe as well. When you complete this task, search Violet’s inventory. Make sure that you get her head intact and not mangled. If it does come up mangled, restart at your last save point and try it again.

Step 5 – Get Violet’s Head to Major Dhatri

If you get Violet’s head intact, head back over to Camp McCarran. You now speak to Major Dhatri again. Tell him that you’d like to collect a bounty and show him the intact head of Violet. Once again, you will receive 250 caps and 100 experience. Now it is time to choose your final target, we chose the only one left: Driver Nephi.

Optionally, you may want to recruit Lieutenant Gorobets, and he will assemble a sniper team to help you with our final target. He can be easily found in Camp McCarran. It is recommended that you utilize this.

Step 6 – Obtain Driver Nephi’s Head

If you chose to get the extra help from Gorobets, just follow his team of snipers. If you didn’t, just go to the Samson Rock Crushing Plant. Just keep moving until you see a number of enemies. These are, of course, Fiends. They belong to Driver Nephi, and he is there as well. Lure him as close to the plant as you can so the team of snipers can take him out. When they do, just search his inventory to get his head. If it’s mangled, try again, and keep trying until you get his head intact. If you got no sniper help, you should be able to kill him yourself with a little extra effort.

If you did get help from Gorobets, head back, speak to him, and show him the intact head, before you do the next step. He will award you with an extra 300 caps.

Step 7 – Get Driver Nephi’s Head to Major Dhatri

Head back to Camp McCarran, and speak to Major Dhatri. Let him know that you have a bounty to collect and show him the intact head on Driver Nephi. He will, for the final time, award you with 250 caps and 100 experience. Once you do this, you have completed your side quest.

If you have utilized everything mentioned in this guide then you will obtain, overall: 1100 caps, 300 experience, and 360 NCR money. Congratulations!
