World of Warcraft: Catalysm Pre-Release Guide

Deathwing, father of the black dragon brood has awoken, and He. Will. Have. His. Vengeance. Azeroth beware! Your destruction is close at hand.

That’s right fellow Azerothians. Blizzard has done it again. World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will be released in less than a month on December 7th 2010. If any gamer-geek parents are reading this is an ideal holiday gift for your little bundle of joy.

Return to Top Cataclysm Introduction

This expansion is going to be radically different from the previous additions to the game. That much I can say. When I heard that Cataclysm was in development, I rolled my eyes thinking that Blizzard was just releasing more completely random end-game content, but instead after reading and researching online I was delightfully surprised! Everything we know and love about the original WoW zones are going to change!

Return to Top Classes and Races:

First of all, probably the most anticipated addition to WoW are two new races.Worgen joined the alliance, and Goblins FOR THE HORDE! These two new races are both epic and incredibly cool looking, but don’t let their good looks fool you. These two people are tenacious, violent, and bloodthirsty and equipped with some of THE most epic and useful racial skills I have ever heard of or seen.

Return to Top Classes and Races: Goblins

After series of cataclysmic events in the Lost Isles and the Undermine, a betrayal from one of their own trade princes, and open hostility from members of the Alliance, the goblins of the Bilgewater Cartel decide that their relations with the Horde can no longer be neutral. Through the Orcs, the goblins enter the Horde, becoming the 6th race to follow the Warchief’s leadership.

Racial Abilities:

Best Deals Anywhere! – Always receive the best possible gold discount regardless of faction.

Better Living Through Chemistry – Alchemy skill increased by 15.

Pack Hobgoblin – Allows you to access your bank for one minute (Awarded by Message For Garrosh at the end of the Lost Isles Quest.)

Rocket Jump – Activates your rocket belt to jump forward.

Rocket Barrage – Launches your belt rockets at an enemy, dealing fire damage based on character level.

Time is Money – Increases attack and casting speed by 1%.

Classes

The goblin can be quite a few classes including: Death Knight, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, or a Warrior. Quite an extensive use range if you ask me.

Return to Top Classes and Races: Worgen

Swarmed by worgen and infected with their curse, the proud citizens of Gilneas are forced to seek old alliances once again as a new threat looms over the horizon. The Forsaken are invading the former human kingdom through the shattered Graymane’s Wall, and only the combined efforts of the Gilnean worgens led by king Genn Graymane, and the night elves of Tyrande Whisperwind will be enough to hold back the wave of undead attackers. The timely appearance of the high priestess of Elune not only saves what is left of Gilneas, but also grants its citizens a place in the Alliance once again.

Racial Abilities

Abberation – Increases Nature and Shadow resistances, based on level. - Increases Nature and Shadow resistances, based on level.

Dark Flight – Activates your true form, increasing movement speed by 40% for 10 sec.

Flayer – Skinning skill increased by 15 and allows you to skin faster.

Two Forms – Turn into your currently inactive form. (Awarded by Neither Human Nor Beast)

Viciousness – Increases critical strike chance by 1%.

Classes

The Worgen, like the goblin can be a wide arrangement of classes including a Death Knight, Druid, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, or a warrior. Beware of these guys. They’re going to take raiding by storm! All Worgen raid groups!

Return to Top General Class Changes:

Beside from the new races, every old school race has at least one new class they can be! Humans can be hunters, etc!

Human: Hunter.

Dwarf: Mage, Shaman

Gnome: Priest

Night Elf: Mage(I love how they completely ignored the lore with this change.)

Dreanei: No new classes, sorry fellas. (Hey I said old school classes.)

Tauren: Paladin, Priest

Undead: Hunter (I wonder what will happen when they try to tame a wolf? GIVE ME BACK MY LEG!)

Troll: Druid (I know… Really???)

Orc: Mage

Blood Elf: Warrior (WHAT? Blood Elves were too powerful already!
