What a nice day! Nice for a Fallout: New Vegas quest that is. The quest we cover today is a fairly simple one. Basically, you take out a target without getting killed. It’s called “Arizona Killer.” Okay, okay, it gets a little more complicated than that, so let’s cut the small talk.

Alright, so, to start this quest, go to The Fort and talk to either Caesar or Lucius. One of them will give you the quest. Your objective is to assassinate the president, Aaron Kimball.

You can just rig the Vertibird (which requires 50 explosive skill), or assassinate the president yourself. We’ll kill the president personally because that’s all that really needs any amount of explaining.

What you want to do is meet with Cato Hostilius. He will be located, waiting for you between Ranger Station Delta and Hoover Dam. Talk to him. He’ll give you a bit of advice on how to carry out the assassination. He will then rest, and soon awaken dressed in civilian clothing. He will give you NCR armor. This is a trooper costume. He will quickly get into position in the crowd at the Hoover Dam.

Now, get to the location where the president is to arrive. Make sure that you have your disguise on, and that the rangers don’t see you. If they do see you, they’ll immediately know that it’s you under the disguise, and start shooting.

When you get to your objective location, wait a few minutes, and the president will land. There are several ways of approaching the assassination. We’ll list them all:

1)      Take it head on, up close, and personal. This is probably the easiest and most effective way of completing the quest. However, escaping without getting killed by the NCR soldiers is quite a bit harder. You could just kill them all, but that would take a lot more effort than just running.

2)      Another way is just to snipe the president during his speech. Just climb up the nearest tower, kill the associated ranger, and take out the president long-range. This is quite easy, and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves to snipe.

3)      We’ve mentioned earlier that you could rig the president’s Vertibird to kill him. All you need to do is talk to another assassin, and he will endow you with a bomb to plant during the president’s speech. As long as you don’t leave before it explodes, you’ll have completed the quest.

4)      You can rig the AA cannon to blow, or the special soldier’s helmet. Both are quite simple. To rig the AA cannon, you’ll need 50 repair skill. Just find an ideal safe-spot. For the soldier’s helmet, plant C4 in the helmet by the stage, then tell the owner where it is. He’ll put it on and return to the stage. Just make sure you’re a safe distance away, and detonate it.

5)      There is a terminal inside the Visitor Center. The terminal contains the flight plans for the president’s Vertibird. You can hack this terminal, and change the plans. Then, when the president leaves on his Vertibird, it will inevitably crash.

If you can carry out any of these successfully, then you’ve just completed a Fallout: New Vegas quest. Great job!
