All the 3DS hype was kinda left aside for a while, call it Christmas shopping or whatever you like, but maybe since the actual console isn’t here this is only normal. Anyway recently FAMITSU magazine (a very popular weekly mag in the country of the rising sun) published a lot of details about two different Resident Evil games, let’s check them out!The first one is the one we already saw coming, I mean we know nothing about it except it looks awesome and stuff like that, but that’s about it. The thing is that now thanks to FUMITSU we actually know stuff! Yay for us!

First of all the game is trying to bring back the old vibe of the Resident Evil saga. This means, MORE SILENT HILL AND LESS MAX PAYNE. Admit it, although we had fun with RE4 and RE5 they were shooters with some puzzles, and that’s not the way I remember getting hooked with this saga. Thankfully the game devs saw that and decided to use the 3DS technology to actually bring back the survival horror into Resident Evil: Revelations (that’s the title this game is getting by the way). They actually assure the feel of depth created by the console will make you jump out of your seat when a funny zombie tries to grab you through a window or stuff like that. The depth of field will also allow you to notice things by just looking carefully and not just waiting for them to pop up.

Man this game looks good...that's a handheld game!

Also the game is packed with puzzles so, imagine our joy when we heard about this.  You want more good news? Ok … starring in this game: (drum roll) Jill Valentine and Chriss Redfield… that’s right, they’re back and this time will find out about what happens right after the birth of the BSAA unit!

The game takes place in it’s majority on a big boat or at least that’s what the screenshots shows! So we’re really excited about this, if you’re an old time follower of the saga I think you’ll be too!

Moving towards the second game… Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D this is about the total opposite of the game I just told you about. The game is basically a more developed and thoughtful version of the mini game we can enjoy since Resident Evil 3. This means go through a map dispatching zombies, trying not to die and having a freaking blast breaking records! The game will feature a co-op mode to play with friends in WI-FI up to 2 players.

On a more…technical aspect the game controls actually looks like something both nice and …incomprehensible… I mean the game is mostly Over The Shoulder perspective right? But when you aim and go down to your iron sights this is controlled by the 3DS analog stick…still the game creators told us that there will be a way to move the character while in this mode so…our question is…well..how? There will be a Stylus fashioned control way so only time will tell how well this control scheme will work.

It really REALLY looks like RE5...I still can't wrap my head around handheld consoles doing this kind of things...

So guys! There you have it, the 3DS news are back and boy are they good. Particularly these two games are a complete mystery when it comes to release date but we can expect them to be released near the date of the console itself. For many of us these two games (pick your poison) will be a huge reason to pick the handheld, will it be for you?

‘Till next time
