Hello Noble Team, today were going to go over where all the Data Pads are in Halo Reach. The guide will be split up by locations then by the difficulty setting of Legendary or All Others.

Winter Contingency

Legendary Difficulty: Immediately after jumping out of the Falcon, sprint down the hill and look for the shimmering form of an invisible Elite. Quickly take him out (you should be able to drop him just as the two Moa’s run out) to nab this Data Pad.

All Other Difficulty: After finding your first vehicle (the truck), drive it across a road spanning a small river. Immediately after that, the road will split with the main path going to the right and another on the left leading to a few houses. Look inside the first house on the right. The Data Pad will be lying next to a dead man.

Oni: Sword Base

Legendary Difficulty: Before getting to Sword Base you’ll find a rickety-looking shack near a communications tower. Get on the roof and jump the gap in the broken bridge over to a rock outcropping. Run toward the back of the cliff to find this Data Pad.

All Other Difficulty: On the third level of the interior of Sword Base you’ll see a staircase — the Data Pad is clearly visible on the floor underneath it.

Nightfall

Legendary Difficulty: When you get the complex with the civilian militia, run to the left along the channel, then turn left and look for the path through the cliff walls. You’ll see some rocks along the right wall stair-stepping up to a ledge (There’s a green flare at the base of the first rock that helps you locate it. Run and jump along here until you get to a tree. Jump across a gap to the other ledge. Run along here until you see a natural rock bridge. Drop down and finally jump one more gap near another tree. The Data Pad will be on this small ledge.

All Other Difficulty: At the very beginning of the level, look for a gap in the rocks and walk up this path. A Data Pad will be in-between some rocks on the ground to your left.

Tip of the Spear

Legendary Difficulty: Just before reaching the second AA gun, you’ll ramp off of a shattered overpass. There is a smoking Warthog sitting on a part of it that is still standing. Use the broken struts to jump up on top where you’ll find this Data Pad.

All Other Difficulty: Fight your way into the Mining facility. Follow the route until you get to the room in which you jump down through the hole in the roof. After dropping down, run straight through the open doorway and turn left. This Data Pad will be on a shelf behind some crates.

Long Night of Solace

Legendary Difficulty: Right before you hop into the Saber, turn around at the top of the stairs and jump to the opposite ledge. Then, use the metal scaffolding there to jump on top of the middle wall. The Data Pad is at the top of the upward slope.

All Other Difficulty: Before making it to the Saber, you’ll run through the launch complex full of dead soldiers and abandoned equipment. The Data Pad is in the room with the spinning hologram, behind the long row of consoles on the left.

Exodus

Legendary Difficulty: This Data Pad requires a bit of a leap of faith. After fighting the group of Brutes near the staircase, jump off of the ledge near the doors where more survivors escape from and jetpack over to some exposed girders on the side of the building. Keep jetting up to the very top, where you’ll find this Data Pad on top of an air conditioner.

All Other Difficulty: Immediately after meeting up the the ODSTs and jetpacking across the gap, you’ll come to an area with a group of Brutes and Grunts. Dispatch or run past them, staying close to the left wall and jetpack up to the highest ledge. Look for the Data Pad on a metal walkway in this alcove.

New Alexandria

Legendary Difficulty: After hopping in the Falcon, lift off from the landing pad and turn around. The building you just took off from will look like it’s ‘pointing’ toward the building directly behind it. Fly your Falcon down the side of this building – the Data Pad will be on a very small ledge near some windows. Carefully jump out of the Falcon to grab it.

All Other Difficulty: Look for a light-gray and black building with a sloping roof. Land your Falcon on this building and look for the Data Pad in front of a door.

The Package

Legendary Difficulty: Run away from the area you’re defending with the automated turrets until you reach the end of the cliff on the right-hand side (if facing with your back to the base). Jump from here and jetpack over to the left side of the building. After turning the corner you’ll see the Data Pad on a small outcropping of rocks. You can also use the jetpack to hijack a Banshee and then fly it to the Data Pad.

All Other Difficulty: Inside of the ruined Sword Base, run up the ramp along the right wall. Head back through these rooms until you see a open door on your left. The Data Pad is on the floor right around the corner of this doorway.

The Pillar of Autumn

Legendary Difficulty: Once you reach the dry-dock area, get onto the middle platform and run up the conveyor-belt walkway to the roof. Turn right and run down to the end – the Data Pad will in the back-left corner.

All Other Difficulty: After entering the dry-dock, run down the hallway until you see some windows along the right wall. Break the second window and crouch-jump into the room. The Data Pad will be on a shelf in the back-left corner of the room.

Lone Wolf

Legendary Difficulty: During this final fight, run straight ahead until you see a large pipe up on some scaffolding. Run up the ramp and jump across, then jump to the other end of the pipe and collect/read it through the metal grate.
