There is A LOT in Mass Effects 2 and what better way to get started with the guides then to introduce you to all the different classes. Besides all us PS3 owners are finally getting to see what’s up.

Return to Top Adept

Powers
Push
Pull
Singularity
Shockwave
Warp

If you like magic or play as a wizard in other RPG’s this is your guy. While this character has poor weapon abilities, it excels in using Biotics (aka the Force). This character isn’t designed to be up front in the battles but works to facilitate the needs of helping out their teamates from distance and under cover.

Return to Top Soldier

Powers
Concussive Shot
Adrenaline Rush
Disruptor Ammo
Incendiary Ammo
Cryo Ammo

Hey I love Nathan Drake and other Third-Person Shooters, well you’ll be right at home. This class also comes with a bullet-time effect known as Adrenaline Rush that will slow down the world around you. The other benefit to this class is the massive amount of weapons training that comes with the character by default. So at the start of the game, if you pick soldier, you’ll have a wide array of weapons for you to choose from and the knowledge to deal the most amount of damage with such weapons.

Return to Top Infiltrator

Powers
Tactical Cloak
Disruptor Ammo
Cryo Ammo
Incinerate
AI Hacking

By now you got the hang of it this class is for the snipers out there. The benefits to the Infiltrator rely in the ability to attack from great distances and to be able to sneak around enemies. One of the benefits to this character is the ability to cloak — no other class has this ability in the game.

Return to Top Vanguard

Powers
Heavy Charge
Pull
Cryo Ammo
Incendiary Ammo
Shockwave

This class has it all the best of combat and biotics. This class does not overly excel in either field, sort of your best all around character class to pick if this is the first time you’ve played a Mass Effect game, and is best suited for battles that are up close. One of the best attacks though is the Vanguard’s Charge ability. Combine this with Cryo ammo and you can charge right through a frozen enemy, shattering them into hundreds of pieces.

Return to Top Sentinel

Powers
Throw
Warp
Overload
Tech Armor
Cryo Freeze

Probably one of the harder classes to play as since their Biotic, Tech, and weapon abilities are all good, but not great. Keep this in mind if you feel like playing as this class. You’ll have to be very strategic with the way you plan your attack strategies on the field and will definitely have to rely on using your powers to help your teammates complete some difficult objectives in the game, that more times than not requires a lot of shooting.

Return to Top Engineer

Powers
Combat Drone
Incinerate
Overload
Cryo Freeze
AI Hacking

A master mechanic, the Engineer is great to battle against robotics like mechs and get with their ability to hack these robots to turn against each other. Outside of that, the Engineer can deploy a Combat Drone to assist your teams during the attack. Much like the Adept and Sentinel, the Engineer works best while staying in cover and not while getting up close and personal with many of the enemies in the game.
