If all you know about Bulletstorm is that you get into the Gears 3 beta when you pre-order it then you need to read this guide cause this game will be a “Game Changer”, and it’s as my mother would say, raunchy.
Plot
Bulletstorm takes place in a futuristic setting where a futuristic confederation is being protected by an elite band of mercenaries known as Dead Echo. When Dead Echo members Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato discover that they had been working on the wrong side, they betray their squad commander and end up being exiled to the edges of the galaxy. Players take the role of Grayson Hunt a few years after his exile, who had since become a drunken space pirate. He ends up getting involved on an interstellar crash landing, where he meets his old comrade Sato. The two of them discover that they are surrounded by hordes of mutants and flesh eating gangs in an abandoned paradise called Stygia. The two of them decide to work together once again to get off the planet alive and take revenge on the man who sent them there.
Gameplay
Players utilize a large arsenal consisting of over-the-top combat moves and incredibly large weapons. Bulletstorm also consists of a variety of unique “Skill Shots” which create extreme levels of frantic gameplay. The skill shot gameplay system rewards the player for creating and inciting mayhem in the most creative way possible. The more unique the skill shot, the more points players receive to upgrade their character, unlock weapons which allow the player to perform even more creative moves and exaggerated skill shots. In addition to the single player campaign, there are two multiplayer modes: Anarchy (co-op) and Echo (competitive). In Anarchy mode, up to 4 players co-operatively battle through waves of enemies with progressive difficulty. In Echo mode, you compete with your online friends by playing through areas from the single player campaign in an attempt to get the highest skill shots score, which is tracked on an online scoreboard.
Skill Shots
Skill Shots are probably the most important feature of the game. Bulletstorm is focusing on using Skill Shots to distinguish itself from the plethora of other first-person shooter games. While it is possible to play Bulletstorm like a normal FPS and simply kill the players regularly, it is far more rewarding to use Skill Shots. Skill Shots allow you to receive more points per kill than just using a regular shot. Also, Skill Shots can be chained together to earn even more points, which are used to upgrade your arsenal. If your keep doing the same skill shots over and over again, then you will get diminishing points for that. There is a total of 135 different skill shots in the game.
Once the game is released stay tuned for guides on all the best Skill Shots.
