Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is, as you may already know, one of the most epic fighting games to come out this season. And, as if the game itself right now wasn’t enough, the makers of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has announced that there will be downloadable content available to players very soon!

On March 1, players will be able to download new costumes for six characters including Ryu, Captain America, Dante, Chris Redfield, Thor and Iron Man. This DLC is available for 400 Microsoft points or $5. Also, these new costumes are not available in the special edition, so owners of the Marvel VS Capcom 3 SE can also download the content.

A Shadow Mode feature will also be available for download for all Marvel vs. Capcom 3 non-SE owners. In the Shadow Mode DLC, players will be able to duke it out against Ryota Niitsuma (Marvel vs. Capcom 3 producer), Akihito Kadowaki (associate producer) and one of the QA testers. Note that this is only the first Shadow Mode download and that they promised more packs to come soon.

For the owners of the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Special Edition, 2 new characters will be added to their roster: Jill and Shuma Gorath. This was because of some technical issues that the developers missed. The owners of the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 SE in the PS3 will be able to claim their downloadable content on March 15, 2011 via the PSN. Simply input the PSN code at the back of the art book and you’ll be able to get the DLC in no time. For Xbox 360 owners, each player will be sent an Xbox Live code come March 15, 2011. Simply register your e-mail on the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 website and follow the instructions provided. The code at the back of the art book will be inputted at the redeem site in order to obtain the Xbox Live code.
