The Echoes challenge is one of the most exciting features of the Bulletstorm game. It’s a mode that challenges you to complete levels using the most creative kills. It’s one of the most fun modes in today’s first person shooters and is certainly a must try!

First thing you need to do in order to prepare yourself to get a top score is to layer skillshots. Remember those “Pancake” kills you did in Act 5? Keep doing those only and you’ll get a low score. Try doing each of the unique skillshots and you’ll be well on your way to getting the top score. Also in this mode, skillshots can be stacked. For example if you kick a hostile towards one of the scrap crushers in the area while he is burning, you will get both “Afterburner” and “Pancake” kills. This maximizes your creative room by making you come up with the craziest kills possible. There are just tons of different combination’s waiting to be discovered!

Also remember that while playing through each level, the first time you do a certain skillshot will grant you five times more points than the succeeding times you do it. In other words, you should execute as much different unique skillshots as possible per level in order to maximize the points.

One of the best weapons to master in the Echoes challenges is the Peacemaker Carbine. Not only is it the default weapon of choice throughout the game mode, it is also one of the most efficient at killing echoes. Try mastering all the possible skillshots that can be executed with the Peacemaker Carbine, after that, try mastering all the possible weapon combinations with it in order to earn more skillshots. It is also the perfect weapon for shooting at running opponents as it makes them fall over and compromising their posture in order for you to create more skillshots.

More advice for newcomers: abuse the Berserkers. They are the green colored enemies that just love to charge towards you and hit you in melee range. Try shooting them in their Puffball masks while they are near you. You will become intoxicated after it explodes near you. While you are intoxicated you will gain fifty more skill points for each kill you make thanks to the “Toxic Love” skillshot. You can also take a shot at dead Berserkers in order to get this effect. Maximize the use of this and you’ll be soaring in the leaderboards in no time.

Every time you take out an Echo, the time limit of the level increases. The more time you have left after clearing the area, the more bonus points you get. Each second is worth twenty seconds so maximize this. Take out and clear the enemies as fast as possible. Maintaining the perfect balance between making an extremely complicated skillshot and the speed of executing all the hostiles is the key to success. Practice makes perfect, so always have the most time efficient skillshots at your disposal.

Speaking of switching weapons, each weapon has their own unique set of skillshots, as well as skillshots that are doable on several weapons. Learning to switch weapons in between kills is a must. Learn to analyze each area on the go and try to go with the best set of skillshots possible.

The Leash’s Thumper is also one of the most important things you should master. Learning when to use it, as well as all the other weapons’ chargers is a must. It is good to learn the patterns at which the Echoes move in able to fully utilize the charged shots. Refilling at the Dropkits will cost you nothing but there will only be up to three charged shots in between Dropkits, keep that in mind.

Look out for Nom Juice. This is also one of the easiest ways to outdo your past high scores as while under the influence of the Nom Juice you get tons of bonus points per kill. It gets a bit challenging though because your vision will be blurred.

Finally, keep checking your skillshot database whenever you feel like in order to remember the skillshots you’ve already executed in the round. Through this you can also get to know which skillshots you haven’t executed. Remember that while checking the skillshot database, the Echoes timer stops. So take your time to browse it.
