Return to Top FIFTH GYM: QUAKE BADGE

Leader Clay

  • Lv. 29 Krokorok
    • Type: Ground/Dark
    • Moves: Crunch, Swagger, Bulldoze, Torment
  • Lv. 29 Palpitoad
    • Type: Water/Ground
    • Moves: Muddy Water, Aqua Ring, Bulldoze, Bubblebeam
  • Lv. 31 Excadrill
    • Type: Ground/Steel
    • Moves: Slash, Rock Slide, Bulldoze, Hone Claws

Prize: 3720P, Quake Badge

Damn this dude

Well you’ll get enough time to hate this dude even when the fight is over…but for now let’s focus on the actual GYM fight, his first pokémon the Krokorok is a status dispenser, this ugly creature will swagger and torment the living hell out of us. So don’t throw in your main treats yet cause they will suffer a bunch of debuffs. Overall Krokorok has a really low Defense stat and is weak against a lot of elements (Ground/Dark is kinda of a lame type choice…) so you’ll take him down quickly. Palpitoad is the evolution of the Tympoile, it’s not very weak and is type WATER so you know what to do with it. Just don’t send in anything that you can easily loose, since it’s not THAT strong and it should go down easily.

Last but no least…Excadrill, man, this guy can hit HARD, but I mean HARD, this will hurt A LOT, so ABUSE his weaknesses and hurt him first! This can be a troubled fight if you don’t play your cards right, believe me, don’t underestimate the power of this weird looking mole…Pro Tip? FIRE-WATER hurts him A LOT.

Return to Top SIXTH GYM: JET BADGE

Leader Skyla

  • Lv. 33 Swoobat
    • Type: Psychic/Flying
    • Moves: Heart Stamp, Assurance, Acrobatics, Amnesia
  • Lv. 33 Unfezant
    • Type: Normal/Flying
    • Moves: Air Slash, Quick Attack, Leer, Razor Wind
  • Lv. 35 Swanna
    • Water/Flying
    • Moves: Aqua Ring, Air Slash, Bubblebeam, Aerial Ace

Prize: 4200P, Jet Badge, TM 62 (Acrobatics)

Oh yeah, it's mad at you, you'll see

Tricky fight this is…well it’s not hard actually but it has a catch, this is all about speed. There’s almost no chance that you’ll be first like…ever. All of her pokémon are obscenely fast and they will outrun you every time. Swoobat is the fastest of the bunch, but you know this guy, c’mon you eat Swoobats for breakfast by now! So don’t complain and take him down! Next comes the final evolution of Pidove, Unfezant, while it is a little slower than swoobat, it’s still awfully quick…but you know…he flies, so it has a horrible 6xweakness agains electrit type attacks, so now you know, thunder away.

Ok moving on here comes Swanna, ok she can hit hard and will strike you with Aerial Ace or Bubble Beam. Just when you think it can’t get any more annoying than this, she’ll use Aqua Ring to heal…FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!! Anyway, being FLY/WATER, a nicely placed and timed electric attack will make it suffer, SO DO SO AND COLLECT YOUR BADGE! YEAH!

Return to Top SEVENTH GYM: FREEZE BADGE

Leader Brycen

  • Lv. 37 Vannilish
    • Type: Ice
    • Moves: Mirror Shot, Acid Armor, Astonish, Frost Breath
  • Lv. 37 Cryogonal
    • Type: Ice
    • Moves: Reflect, Aurora Beam, Rapid Spin, Frost Breath
  • Lv. 39 Beartic
    • Type: Ice
    • Moves: Slash, Brine, Icicle Smash, Swagger

Prize: 4680P, Freeze Badge, TM 79 (Frost Breath)

SHORYUUUUUUUUUUUUKEN!!

Well Vannilish won’t pose much of a threat I mean it does scores a lot of critical hits, but it’s still Ice type, so a couple of Super Effectives will put him down like nobody’s business. Next is Cryogonal…this dude is tough, and I mean it, it’s seriously tough. Good speed, better SP attack, an incredible amount of SP def, but a crappy crappy DEF. So if you can connect a Super Effective physical attack you will hurt him beyond recovery, so try to do that and you’ll be on the money. If you picked Tepig as you main pokémon by now you should be laughing looking up like a mad scientist. This will be a piece of cake since all three pokémons are pure ice and Fighting-Fire are super effective against them so…Guess who’s Fighting-Fire? You know the answer.

Ok, last pokémon, Beartic, slow? Yes, Weak? Hell no. This guy can inflict some serious damage and even to your fire pokémons since it knows a water attack. So your best course of action here is hit fast and hit hard, a couple of well placed fire-fighting moves will put him down and earn you your seventh badge!

Return to Top EIGHT GYM: LEGEND BADGE

Leader Iris (White) // Leader Drayden (Black)

  • Lv. 41 Fraxure
    • Type: Dragon
    • Moves: Dragon Dance, Dragon Rage, Dragon Tail, Assurance
  • Lv. 41 Druddigon
    • Type: Dragon
    • Moves: Chip Away, Revenge, Dragon Tail, Night Slash
  • Lv. 43 Haxorus
    • Type: Dragon
    • Moves: Dragon Dance, Slash, Dragon Tail, Assurance

Prize: 5160P, Legend Badge, TM 82 (Dragon Tail)

The name is HAXorus...take the hint man.

This is it, the final battle, the showdown, the real deal! It’s a DRAGON TYPE gym, and you know how hard this can get…if you don’t, hi nice to meet you, this will be hard.

Let’s set some ground rules, this will be the hardest battle yet, no one will kick your ass like this guys, so, know your enemy. Dragon Types are weak to ICE and ICE ONLY, you must know this to even have a chance. Learn Icicle Smash, learn Ice Beam and train fast ice pokémons before this fight. Use status to your benefit, paralyze them, or stall them, you don’t want them to Dragon Dance on you for more than one turn, it will be too late then to even think about retaliate. You’ll thank me later.

Fraxure it’s hard I’ll give you that, but you’ve faced it before! On the way here actually you fought them! So you know what to do, just don’t waste anything you’ll be sorry for later, this is just starting…Next comes Druddigon, this guy will hit you on contact, so try to attack them with reach special attacks such as Ice Beam (Ice beam it’s a must in this gym, don’t even bother without it). We’re almost there man, hang on.

Haxorus…we meet again…this is what you’ll be saying after he blatantly kicks your ass two or three times, fret not, it’s normal. Here’s where having a quick Ice pokémon will pay off…or at least a quick pokémon with Ice moves, Haxorus has the highest attack in the game, this dude is almost UBER, it doesn’t make any sense…On top of that, he can use Dragon Dance to really unleash oblivion upon all of us puny mortals. My advice, stats the crap out of him, stun him, paralyze him, make him stall, confuse him and pray for the best. If you don’t have a fast ice type leveled up to the challenge, I can’t assure your victory here, it’s that hard.

You’re done?? That’s it my friend! You’ve defeated every single gym leader! You have your 8 badges and that opens up some gates!! Get ready cause in the next guides I will be covering the ELITE 4 and the Victory Road!

‘Till next time!
