This guide will break down the XP points for the various game modes in the SOCOM 4 Beta.
XP Kills
| Action | XP | How to Do It |
| Kill | 5 XP | Earn a kill. |
| Team Kill | -10 XP | Kill one of your own teammates. Remember, friendly fire is always on! |
| Assists | 3 XP | Injure an enemy and have your teammate kill them. |
| Buddy System | 15 XP | Kill an enemy who was injured by one of your teammates. |
| Bodyguard | 15 XP | Kill an enemy who is injuring one of your teammates. |
| Ambidextrous | 10 XP | Kill an enemy with both your primary and backup weapons in one life. |
| Lucky Magazine | 20 XP | Get three kills using the same magazine. |
| The Tester | 20 XP | Kill 5 enemies with 5 different weapons. |
| Boo | 15 XP | Kill an enemy after you’re dead or as you die. |
| Weakest Link | 5 XP | Be the first person killed in a round. |
| Remember Me | 10 XP | Kill an enemy who recently killed you. |
| Bayonetter | 10 XP | Stab an enemy with the knife melee. |
| Backstabber | 15 XP | Stab an enemy in the back with the knife melee. |
| Victory Dance Performed | 10 XP | Kill an enemy and perform a victory dance on their dead body. Press the CIRCLE button directly over their body after you kill them. |
| Squatter | 15 XP | Kill an enemy with a suppression strike. |
XP Uplink
| Action | XP | How to Do It |
| Capture Data | 7 XP | Grab the data from one of the data locations on the map. |
| Data Defense | 10 XP | Defend the data locations from any enemies. |
| Data Carrier Kills | 5 XP | Kill an enemy who is holding the intel data. |
| Finders Keepers | 10 XP | Kill an enemy who is holding the intel, the re-upload it to your team’s intel location. |
| Stolen Data | 10 XP | Steal the enemy data and upload it to your base. |
XP Last Defense
| Action | XP | How to Do It |
| Capture Sector Half-Way | 5 XP | Fill the sector capture bar half-way. |
| Capture Sector | 10 XP | Capture a sector. |
| Beacon Planted | 7 XP | Plant a beacon in the enemy HQ. |
| Close But No Cigar | 5 XP | Kill an enemy who is capturing a sector. |
XP Bomb Squad

| Bomb Defused | 5 XP | Defuse a bomb in Bomb Squad. |
Medals
Medals are another great way to earn experience points in SOCOM 4. You can earn medals in game by accomplishing certain challenges. Each medal and their descriptions are shown in the career menu at the multiplayer menu. There are three levels to each medal. Each tier gives a tougher challenge. For example: combat medal level 1 is awarded for scoring 10 kills and a 1:1 kill/death ratio in a single match, combat medal level 2 is awarded for scoring 15 kills and a 1:1 kill/death ratio in a single match, and combat medal level 2 is awarded for scoring 25 kills and a 1:1 kill/death ratio in a single match. You will be awarded extra experience points at the end of the match after earning these medals. You can earn medals multiple times.
