The Champion Mode in Fight Night Champion introduces something new to the Fight Night series, as you follow protagonist Andre Bishop in his search for glory and redemption. This guide (accompanied by a video) will walk you through the second part of the story, as you reminisce about your world amateur final fight against Cuban great Joel Savon.
Despite the daunting task that seems to be proposed to you at the start of this fight, it really isn’t that difficult to defeat Savon despite his lofty credentials. One thing to note; with the fight having amateur scoring, it means that you don’t have to load up when you throw and it’s more important to throw punches in bunches. It’s not about the amount of damage you can dish out, as whatever you land successfully counts.
With that in mind, when you face Savon just keep your arms up and act as a counter puncher. But when you counter his shots, don’t pot-shot. Throw 3-4 punch combination’s and vary it up to both the head and body.
Another thing to note is that an achievement labeled ‘gold medal performance’ can be won in this fight. To do this, you have to successfully stop Savon within the four scheduled rounds. But don’t let this deter you from the original game plan, stick to what you have to do to win and if the knockout comes, it comes!
